Moved

December 7, 2018 by Cathrine Hoekstra

We moved. We had a house that helped us get started as a family. We had a house that helped us share many holidays, birthdays, at home dinner dates, sleepless nights, early mornings, good days and bad days, and much more. We had a house that we welcomed Memphis home to back in 2016. A home filled with three dogs. A home filled with laughter and love.

But we moved.

Moving near the end of a semester is not a good idea. Moving in the cold is also not a good idea, but we did it. We had help from my dad, my father-in-law, friends,  and our kids.

When you live in one place for a certain period of time you accumulate a lot of “stuff.” Shoes, coats, clothes, DVDs, books, papers and artwork from the kids in various grades, coffee mugs…and sometimes you just have to purge.

Our new home is currently being filled with some stuff. We have a few new things to buy, we have a few things to move around and make our new home our home.

The move was a bit scary, but the move was worth it. The move was a good decision, one for our whole family.

I am excited and tired at the same time. We have a lot going on, and trust me, I have always had the blog in the corner of my mind. I have missed writing and hope to be back on track soon.

And, I hope to share some pictures of our new home once it seems “put together.”

Are you officially an adult when you get excited about shopping for furniture and vacuums? Asking for a friend…
