Just Breathe.

September 18, 2018 by Cathrine Hoekstra

It’s been a minute (yes, I know it has actually been more than a minute) since the last blog post.

We are doing well, just busy.

That’s life. Last week we participated in the Weapons of Mass Creation art show. Art from Veterans and their family members were displayed at the Glove or Surplus Gallery.

It was wonderful.

But during and after we forgot to breathe.

Odd, right?

Life can keep you moving so fast that tasks like eating and breathing can slip your mind.

In those moments, the ones where you don’t know if you are coming or going, the ones where you can’t remember if you brushed your teeth before you left the house, you have to remember to just breathe.

This photo makes my heart swell. I’m so proud of Sam for continuing this art show. Since it is held every two years, we get a chance to catch our breath.

We breathe.

We relax. Our weekend was busy, yet we spent time together. We reflected on the week and man, it was a good week.

We even celebrated with pizza.

Sometimes you have to focus on the good, even when you are tired and run down.

Sometimes you get to spend a little extra time with your husband at an art gallery.

Sometimes you realize in the chaos, you grow to love someone more and more each day.

But you just have to breathe.
