This week, Sam and I decided we needed to make some lifestyle changes. Is this a bad thing? No.
Is it a good thing? Yes. We have decided to watch what we eat by doing a “fatty liver diet.”
Sam had a doctor’s appointment earlier in the week and was given some not-so-great-news.
Clean up your diet, or your liver is in BIG trouble.
Not like “oh, you’ll put on a few pounds” or “your liver will be sad,” but more like “you could experience cirrhosis.”
This would be non-alcoholic fatty liver, by the way.
That.is.major.
No, Sam is not a drinker, we do have a glass of wine occasionally (and I mean occasionally), but fatty liver is no joke.
So, after the appointment, we started the (somewhat dreaded) grocery list. I went to Pinterest for recipes, ideas, and then we ventured to the grocery store.
Sam only grumbled a little.
Folks, when your doctor gives some advice, some “life changing” advice, be sure to listen and take it.
So far, we are doing well. We’ve had some really good meals and snacks…but we are still watching and being cautious with these changes.

These two need each other. They love each other more than they will ever know. Look out, fatty liver, we are coming for you!!
