The past few weeks have been a blur. We’ve had some softball games (okay, we had four last week), we’ve had work, school, laundry, cleaning, you know the drill–a regular week when you are busy.
It seems that we’ve hardly had time to breathe, to really slow down and stop to sit down and just take a few minutes to relax.
Until this weekend. We tried to relax a little. We finally finished “The Office.” I remembered when the show started but stopped watching somewhere around the time Michael Scott wanted to chase Holly off to Colorado, or maybe earlier. Sunday we Neflix’d.
I’ve been working on some writing and have found that it is really allowing me some time to heal, time to process various writing projects and that has been nice. Work seems to pile up and that is stressful, but I feel that taking time for my own writing (for conferences, journals, and essays to *hopefully* be published), is part of healing.
I wrote a piece about Healing Yourself if You are Struggling with Someone Who has PTSD in 2017. I think it is worth a re-read or re-visit. We get so busy we forget to take care of ourselves, that is h-a-r-d. We get burned out, worn out, and flat out exhausted. It is easy to worry about everyone and everything but yourself…
