Today I have returned to the real world. Work. Being out of the house after taking a week off has been met with a few challenges.
I couldn’t decide what to wear today.
I slept in.
I changed clothes three times.
I wanted to work from home, something that I have been doing since last Wednesday.
I’d say that I’m partially on the struggle bus, but once I started my day, it wasn’t so bad. I have been trying to play this awful game…maybe you know it…catch up? You know, when you’ve been sick, on vacation, had time off, and you just have work that has piled up?
That’s where I am at.
I have papers to grade. They aren’t going anywhere. They are waiting for me.
I have a conference presentation to work on and plan. That conference is coming up. I need to get busy.
There’s laundry to be folded. Clothes to be put away. Clothes to wash.
Dinner to think about, cook, and eat (eventually).
My weekend was spent organizing and doing some work. It felt good to work and think about this week, this week of the return to normalcy, whatever that may be. It also felt good to spend time with my family. I could drop off and pick up from school, cuddles in the recliner and on the couch, hugs whenever I needed them…but, alas, the weekend is over.
Oh, hi Monday.
Sure, there’s been days where tears have flowed. Hugs are needed. Naps are necessary. But, a routine is also important at our house. I think the planning and organizing have helped. There’s still a lot of daylight left, so we shall see.
I’ve said it before, and I will say it again…thank you all for reading. For visiting our website. For sending your warm thoughts, well-wishes, and prayers. We are very thankful for them. The love we feel is amazing–so many of you have reached out and we thank you for that.
For now, we are working toward normal. We are trying to get into our regular routine. I saw the perfect image and it sums up how I have been feeling lately.
