We just can’t wait to get on the road again.
Our first stop on our vacation adventure put us near Kansas City. We found a nice KOA. And, if you are a newbie like me, you may wonder what the heck is a KOA.
Kampground of America.
I can’t tell you how much I cringe with the “k” instead of a “c.”
If you’ve never been camping, or explored the outdoors, you should. Doing this requires me to step out of my comfort zone. I have never tent camped, let alone gone backpacking for more than a couple of hours.
And while I feel like stress should be setting in, I’m oddly and peacefully relaxed. Except for when I saw how small our bathroom shower was. I only panicked a little.
I think we all need to shoot for more adventure in our lives. Lately Sam and I felt that we were stuck in our everyday routine. Yes, routine is helpful and important for Sam (for the memory), but sometimes it’s okay to shake things up.
Today we drive. We would appreciate good vibes and well wishes—even your prayers for safe travels. We get to stay at another KOA, and I’m looking forward to that.
The rest of this week’s posts may seem like something out of a travel magazine, or it may feel like you are reading a foodie or travel blog–but that’s all part of our journey!
Even Memphis enjoys camping!

The weather should be kind to you all this week. My son, wife and 2 young children have been travel trailing for years. It had become the center piece of their Summer. Most years they have National Park registrations booked all the way till Halloween.
The photos I receive from them are so much fun. They spend their days finding fun things to do, relaxing, grilling and spending quality time together as a family.
