I am a busy woman.
I work, I am a wife, a mom, a chauffeur at times, a writer, a teacher…the list goes on.
Recently I heard someone say that we have to take time to listen to our hearts. No, it doesn’t mean the song by Roxette. It means really taking time to pause and listen.
There’s the key word, friends. Listen.
My mind was racing, my body was going here and there, but my heart…it was telling me something else.
I’ve realized recently that at times I have too many irons in the fire. I can’t say no to certain events or people (and dogs at times). And during all of this my heart was telling me to listen.
We had a long day of softball on Saturday. I mean a long day of softball. Normally when we have tournaments and down time I have my books or my laptop…I didn’t have that. I sat and talked with my parents, Sam, Caden, and I watched Kirsten’s games. We didn’t leave the park during a break. We waited.
My heart was listening. I was taking time from doing all the things to focus on the important things.
I think we (society) forget about the important things from time to time.
I’m paying more attention to my heart. I hope you can take the time to listen to yours too.
