Today’s post comes from the PBS Newshour and what can discourage veterans from seeking treatment from PTSD.
As you may have noticed, PTSD is a topic of interest lately. Mostly because I see how it affects someone I love.
There are Veterans who struggle to get help because they may not want to accept the diagnosis. Some Veterans relive moments from war every single day. I think it is important to realize we still have a long way to go with understanding our Veterans, their experiences, and even their reluctance to get help.
Please know there is help–there are people that you can reach out to if you know someone struggling with PTSD or someone who is struggling to get help with the VA.
I encourage you to watch this piece from PBS.
