Greetings from Portland!!
I apologize for the delay, but I was attending C’s. Also known as 4C’s, Conference on College Composition and Communication, or the rhet/comp conference.
I just know I spent a big chunk of my day with “my people.”
The conference theme is Cultivating Capacity, Creating Change. I was honored to be part of the Standing Instrest Group on Writing with Current, Former, and Future Members of the Military. I spoke on research I collected during my time at SIU and as instructor of composition courses for veterans.
The best part (well, one of them), was having Sam and Memphis in the audience…
I made new friends! I heard some amazing folks speak on their work and heard how passionate they are about student veterans.
Conference day one in the books. My heart and mind full.
