While it was nice to have a long weekend with an extra day off work/school…I am silently protesting the fact that today is our Monday–
You know, when you struggle…with waking up, with getting moving…you find out one of your kids is actually not feeling well, and you have a full plate for a Tuesday.
I’d like a redo, please.
I had a full day–teaching, even lecturing on PTSD for a health class…my own class…and then sickness hit.
Turns out, our oldest has Influenza A…round 2…after her brother got over it, he decided to share some love…I hate when the kids are sick…in some cases, I would say “I wish it were me,” but I don’t want the flu.
I would like a blanket fort, pillows, books to read for fun, no germs, and maybe Netflix. Can someone make that happen?
I am also tired of Lysol, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, cleaning bedsheets, doing laundry…
And then I realized…I am incredibly lucky. I should actually be thankful in a time of stress, sickness, and near tears.
Lucky that I have a husband who works and supports our family when I have to take days off…
I am thankful for an amazing supervisor and some pretty sweet colleagues who can help me out with my classes…
I am grateful for loving grandparents (major shout out to my amazing dad) who helps out with my kids and our crazy schedule…
And despite the sickness–I am thankful for this time to be home with my kiddos…despite the germs.
With all of that, I’d take sick days with any of them whenever I could…
I just don’t want to be sick…
Now, where’s the Lysol?
Here’s to a good week for all of you—without Influenza A!
Can someone make this blanket fort at my house? Please and thank you.
