#FlashbackFridayBlogPosts

February 24, 2017 by Cathrine Hoekstra

I was thinking about some of the previous blog posts I’ve written…you know, back when I was on Blogger and didn’t have this amazing website? Well, in honor of one of the many hashtags for Friday, I thought I would go with #FlashbackFriday and share some older posts with you all…some that were my favorites to write, and some that went through several revision stages.

My very first blog post was about writing a blog…about a dog. Here’s the link https://walkingwithmemphis.com/2016/11/so-youre-starting-a-blog-about-a-dog/

One of my more emotional posts was about a trip to the Carbondale Lights Fantastic (holiday) parade. What should have been a fun evening out with our family turned into a little bit of a challenge—but one of our dearest friends was in the right place at the right time…Don’t Rain on My Parade challenged me as a writer and to be quite honest, made me reflect a lot on anxiety and PTSD. You can read the post about how Tally helped us out big time here: https://walkingwithmemphis.com/2016/12/dont-rain-on-my-parade/

Writing this blog has helped me reflect on our life…what it means to take a journey of healing and hope with someone you love. We’ve been blessed with so much love and support, I wanted to share about my journey as a blogger and let you all know a little bit about why I write…you can find that piece here: https://walkingwithmemphis.com/2016/12/a-journey/

December was a big month for me with regard to the blog. I learned a little bit more about what it means to be a blogger, and wanted to expand on some of my ideas…little did I know that I had someone who cared so much about our message and content that the process of gifting a domain was in the works. This sweet and kind gesture brought tears to my eyes and almost left me speechless. A wonderful gift was given and you can find that post here: https://walkingwithmemphis.com/2016/12/a-special-gift/

So, there you have it–a recap of some of my favorite posts and a little bit of a backstory on them. I hope you are enjoying our blog. I am still working on learning the ins and outs of getting information to you all. Soon you will have mail preference options (if you want to receive content daily or weekly), and you’ll also find guest writers, interviews, and believe it or not…videos! I’ll leave you with a few photos to accompany some of these posts…and wish you a #HappyFriday
