Countdown: Vacation

July 24, 2017 by Cathrine Hoekstra

It’s that time of year. The time when you get really excited about a trip, a project, an event, a place–and you know it’s coming but all you can do is wait….

Vacation is coming (imagine me saying that as someone who is promoting GoT, in that voice about “winter coming.”).

So, if you read the blog or follow me on social media, you know our family has a camper. And if you’ve followed along for the past few weeks you know we are going on vacation.

Next week the journey begins. Destination: Colorado. Plans: unknown.

That’s right. We don’t really have plans.

If you know me, and you know I’m a planner, you realize me saying “we don’t really have plans” is h u g e.

I like to have a plan.

For now, our plan is to relax. I’m not sure how many of you dear readers get to Colorado, but the views are simply gorgeous. I can’t wait to see that.

I’m relying on apps for this trip. KOA, Camping World, REI, Park Advisor, Roadtrippers, just to name a few. I’ve looked up sights and restaurants along I-70.

And we are just going to go with the flow.

Wouldn’t life be grand if we could do that more often?

So, here’s to a week of no real planning. Packing, yes. RV prep, yes. But scheduling events during the week. No. Trying to find as many places to visit as we can stand in a week? Nope.

Here’s to a week of fun, and adventure. And with my partner in crime!
